The New York International Officers Organization (FOP Lodge 920) is part of the world’s largest organization of sworn law enforcement officers, with more than 325,000 members in more than 2,100 lodges. We are the voice of those who dedicate their lives to protecting and serving our communities. We are committed to improving the working conditions of law enforcement officers and the safety of those we serve through education, legislation, information, community involvement, and employee representation. In keeping with the mission of the Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 920 seeks to improve the individual and collective proficiency of our members in the performance of their duties and to encourage fraternal, educational, charitable and social activities among our members.
Some of the particular goals of our lodge are:
1. To act as liaisons for our law enforcement counterparts in other jurisdictions that may seek our help in drawing from the knowledge of our members in order to better professionalize their own departments.
2. To seek funds for educational scholarships for our community’s youth and for the development of training curricula for our law enforcement community here in the U.S and abroad.
3. To develop, coordinate and provide educational/ informational seminars for the people in the communities we serve.
In essence, the collective purpose of all the FOP Lodges is to cultivate a spirit of fraternalism and mutual helpfulness among our members and the people we serve; to increase the efficiency of the law enforcement profession and thus more firmly establish the public’s confidence in the dedicated service we provide protecting the lives and properties of all our citizens.
